Definition
Webfeeds are a means to distribute content from a website using an XML type format. Usually a webfeed contains titles, summaries, links to articles on the website.
Also known as: RSS, RDF, Feed or Feeds.
History
Invented by Netscape for their portal in 199X. Eventually dropped and picked up by Dave Winer. {There's a lot more...}
Why use the name 'Webfeed'?
There's been a lot of confusion about naming. Really Simple Syndication, RDF Site Syndication, Rich Summary ..., etc.
