I could not stay behind and updated the collection for Google Earth.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image188\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thinklemon.com\/weblog\/stuff\/2006\/01\/gelogoicon.gif?resize=17%2C17\" alt=\"Google Earth KML\" height=\"17\" width=\"17\" \/> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinklemon.com\/ge\/seis\/seis_db.20060311.kmz\" onclick=\"urchinTracker('\/downloads\/ge\/seis');\">Download the March 2006 edition of the SEIS database<\/a> (200KB KML).<\/p>\n<p>So if you happen to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gearthblog.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/03\/huge_crater_dis.html\" title=\"Huge Crater Discovered in Saharan Desert\">discover<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gearthblog.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/03\/new_crater_disc.html\" title=\"New Crater Discovery Using Google Earth?\">some<\/a> craters yourself, now you can check if it&#8217;s in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinklemon.com\/pages\/ge\/\">collection of suspected and\/or confirmed craters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Addendum (2006-03-14):<\/strong> A few people noticed that some craters are far off from where they&#8217;re &#8216;supposed&#8217; to be. Just take a look at the crowd at 0 lat. &#038; 0 lon. or &#8216;Hongkong&#8217; in the middle of Africa. It&#8217;s all because the positioning in the original database is sometimes missing or just plainly wrong. It was my deliberate choice to include all structures and not filter out the bad ones.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m slowly trying to find the right spot for some craters, but with 500+ structures <del>it isn&#8217;t easy<\/del> <ins>it&#8217;s quite a puzzle<\/ins>. \ud83d\ude42 Especially if there are no visible cues on the ground.
